Hoffman & Forde, Attorneys at Law is located in the Banker's Hill neighborhood of San Diego, across from the beautiful Balboa Park. As a fast-paced law firm with a large clientele, we are looking for a litigation paralegal with at least 7 years of civil litigation experience (experience in real estate law preferred, but not required) who can multi-task and is willing to learn multiple practice areas. Our work environment includes working together in teams in order to best serve our clients’ needs. Organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are a must for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Investigate facts and prepare documents to assist attorneys with legal matters.
· Draft legal documents including, without limitation, pleadings, formal discovery requests and responses, declarations, and various motions.
· Compile and organize digital files, mediation binders, and trial notebooks and exhibits.
· File and serve pleadings, motions, and other documents with state and federal courts.
· Management of calendar and litigation deadlines, including relevant California Code of Civil Procedure, Local Rules of Court, and Department Rules.
· Document management and coordination of documents for production as well as document review, redaction, organization, and summarization for purposes of discovery and depositions.
· Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and/or opposing counsel as needed.
· Perform a number of other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent with the general level of the responsibilities described.
· Ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a Hybrid position with Administrative and Paralegal responsibilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program.
· 7+ years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal (trial experience preferred).
· Working knowledge of California Code of Civil Procedure, Local Rules of Court, and Department Rules.
· Skilled in legal writing with ability to independently prepare initial drafts of key documents and pleadings.
· Advanced knowledge in principles, concepts, and methodology of legal proceedings and legal research.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Dropbox, OneLegal and Nationwide (or other e-filing service), and Clio (preferred)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
· Excellent proofreading skills.

Competitive compensation based on experience with a range of $35.00 - $47.00/hour, plus overtime and discretionary bonuses.
